Today is the first day of my blog. Since I have started this Aboutmyarea HD7 website my learning curve into the world of technology has been oh so steep. Last month I had no idea what a tweet was, I thought the idea of blogging was only for frustrated, unpublished writers, and I thought facebook was only for teenagers.

Look at me now!

I have made new friends through twitter, I feel I know so much more about what happens in Slaithwaite, Golcar and Linthwaite. I haven't figured out what to do about Marsden yet, it is such a common name (wait that sounds a little rude to Marsden), familiar word that I will be inundated with tweets about people called Marsden..let me know if you have any solutions.

Online Social Media/networking works.

I tried to persuade my Mum that facebook would work for her, she thinks it is the ruination of society and that the world will be coming to an end because of it. Do you think it is just age? or is it the parochial nature of the Colne Valley? When I grew up it was the 'comers in' that were spoiling the place..now it is social networking!
